Every second of everyday things connect. Whether the connection is a face-to-face conversation or the neurons firing in the human brain, connections are inevitable.

As I looked out into the lunchroom today, I saw people talking --- communicating their thoughts and their emotions. Yes, they are eating lunch or talking or walking to put their tray away. Yet, what is so special about human interactions is the potential for an action to create connections. One idea from one person can spark an idea in another. One action can start a whole movement.

On this April Fool’s Day of 2011, I have stopped for a few minutes and thought about the power of connections. I have come to realize how connected everything really is. Every single action and thought of every single person in the world affects the future in some way.

Sometimes I get bogged down because of opportunity cost. I think, “How will my choice today affect my future?” or “Will that choice lead to the future I want?”

I have come to realize the importance of living in the moment and stopped worrying about how every little choice will change my future.

I challenge you to realize the power of connections.
